Abalone Shell

Abalone shells are used to catch hot cinders and what remains of your smudging stick after it's burned. With the shell representing water, dried herbs the earth, lit herb fire and smoke the air, the act of smudging invites Mother Gaia into the center of the ceremony to hold space for any transformation.
